Free screenings to be held July 28 at MedWest-Harris

A free screening for foot and ankle disorders will be offered from 4 to 6 p.m. July 28 in the rehab services department at MedWest-Harris. Dave Hudson, who holds a doctorate in physical therapy, will  provide the screenings.

Hudson has been a practicing physical therapist since graduating from Ithaca College in 1989. He has worked with patients from a broad spectrum of clinical settings, including inpatient hospital care, orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, pediatrics, sports medicine and general outpatient care.

He earned a Master of Science degree and a PhD in biomechanics and movement science from the University of Delaware. He is an associate professor in the Physical Therapy Department at Western Carolina University, where he teaches clinical biomechanics and exercise physiology; and he operates the Human Movement Science Lab.  He has worked at MedWest-Harris since 2009, primarily treating patients with conditions stemming from mechanical faults in the foot, knee, and hip.
