MedWest-Harris and Swain lift flu visitation restrictions
Sylva, NC – Visitation restrictions that were put in place due to Influenza cases have been lifted. The decline in Influenza activity in the state prompted the change.
Although the visitation restrictions have been lifted, persons with symptoms of respiratory illness such as fever, cough, sore throat, sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, headache, nausea, or vomiting are still asked to refrain from visiting hospital patients.
Any visitors who need to be on campus for a test or medical procedure and have any of the listed symptoms are encouraged to wear a mask or use a tissue to cover their nose and mouth. They are also encouraged to clean their hands with alcohol hand sanitizer and sit at least three feet away from other visitors.
MedWest would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and assistance in preventing the spread of flu to our patients and staff.
