MedWest-Haywood welcomes pediatrician Tyler Bagley Vereen, MD to Haywood Pediatrics in Clyde, starting Oct. 8

Clyde, N.C. – MedWest-Haywood is pleased to announce that pediatrician Tyler Bagley Vereen, MD is joining Haywood Pediatrics in Clyde, starting Oct. 8. 

At Haywood Pediatrics, Vereen is joining pediatricians Sarah Evers, MD, Steven D. Hammel, MD, Karin R. McLelland, MD, Trew Stransky, DO and Stephen J. Wall, MD, and pediatric nurse practitioners and registered nurses Lillian Norris and Anne Sarzynski. 

Haywood Pediatrics is full-service pediatric practice in Clyde and Canton that serves children and adolescents from birth to 21 years of age. The practice provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to help children achieve proper growth and development and an active and healthy lifestyle. 

“We are excited to become a part of such a warm and welcoming community,” said Vereen, who is moving to the area with her husband, Will. 

Vereen is a board-certified general pediatrician who said she enjoys working with breastfeeding mothers and has a special interest in treating kidney diseases. 

Vereen earned her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. She is a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics there, specializing in teaching pediatric rheumatology. 

Vereen completed her pediatric residency at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia where she also is a clinical preceptor in the pediatric residency program. Vereen has worked for the last two years as a pediatrician at Pediatric Associates in Columbia. 

Vereen is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and holds memberships in the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Columbia Medical Society, the South Carolina Medical Association and the American Medical Association. 

Vereen earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. where she also was a research assistant in the department of microbiology.
