MedWest Urgent Care Center-Sylva to open seven days a week starting in December

SYLVA, N.C. - MedWest Urgent Care Center in Sylva will be open on Sundays starting Dec. 4. 

Hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. seven days a week at the Center, located at 176 Walmart Plaza in Sylva. 

The Center, which opened in August, provides walk-in examinations to patients with non-emergency illnesses or injuries. The facility includes space for eight patient exam rooms, X-ray and full lab services in 3,770 square feet. 

Urgent Care Center-Sylva staff includes two physicians, two physician assistants or nurse practitioners, two medical assistants, two registered nurses, and four radiology and lab technicians. 

Urgent Care-Sylva is the only Urgent Care in Jackson County and is one of three in the MedWest Health System. Other MedWest Urgent Care locations are at 556 Hazelwood Road in West Waynesville and at 262 Leroy George Dr. in Clyde, which is scheduled to move to a new facility at Interstate 40 Exit 31 in Canton in December.
